THE PROCESS: “How is lip blushing done?”

Semi-permanent lip tattooing is done using a digital machine and a needle to essentially colour in your lips and make them “pop”.

The process begins with a consultation, where we discuss your desired color and shape for your lips. I will then use a pencil to outline the desired shape of your lips and make any necessary adjustments.

Next, I would thoroughly clean and numb your lips to minimize discomfort, then use a small needle to deposit pigment into the upper layers of the skin on your lips. The needle is used to create fine, hair-like strokes that mimic the natural color and texture of your lips.

The entire process typically takes about 1-2 hours, depending on the desired outcome. The final result is a natural-looking lip color that enhances the shape and definition of your lips and lasts anywhere from 1-3 years.

AFTERCARE: “What’s the healing process of eyebrow tattoos?”

Your freshly blushed lips will go through a natural healing process and it is important to know the right aftercare for beautiful and lasting results.

Prior to getting your semi-permanent lip tattoo, you might want to book a free consultation where we can discuss any skin conditions or allergies, answer your questions and give you more information about this procedure. At this point, you are under no obligation to book your treatment. 

In order to ensure the best results and avoid complications, it’s important to follow the aftercare instructions provided  It’s also important to note that some people may have different healing times, and some may experience more or less redness, swelling, and dryness than others.

WHAT IS NORMAL?

The healing process for a lip blush tattoo typically takes around 7-10 days, and it can be divided into several stages:

• Day 1-2: Immediately after the treatment, your lips will be swollen and red. They may also feel tender to the touch. The color of the tattoo will appear darker than the final result.
• Day 3-4: The swelling will start to subside and the color of the tattoo will start to fade. You may experience some dryness, flaking or itching, but it’s important to avoid picking or scratching the area.
• Day 5-7: The tattoo will begin to heal and the color will start to soften and settle. The dryness and flaking may continue but can be treated by applying a lip balm or moisturizer.
• Day 8-10: The tattoo will be fully healed, and the color will be close to its final result. The lips will feel soft and smooth, and you can start to exfoliate your lips with a gentle lip scrub.
• Touch-up: Usually 6-8 weeks after the initial treatment, you will have a touch-up session to ensure the color is even and to your liking.

AFTERCARE

After your lip blushing treatment, it’s important to take proper care of your lips to ensure the best results. During the healing process, it’s important to avoid certain activities and products that may affect the color and healing of your tattooed lips.

For the first few days, avoid any activities that may cause your lips to be wet, such as swimming, sweating, or showering. Also, avoid any exfoliating products or lip balms with AHA, as they may cause the color to fade or peel off.

You should also avoid sun exposure, as UV rays can cause fading. If you need to be in the sun, protect your lips with a lip balm with SPF.

You may experience some dryness, flaking, or itching during the healing process, but it’s important to not pick or scratch the area. Instead, you can apply a thin layer of Vaseline or Aquaphor to soothe and moisturize your lips.

After 7-10 days, you can start using a lip balm with SPF, and after 14 days, you can start to exfoliate your lips with a gentle lip scrub.

It’s also important to have a touch-up session, usually 6-8 weeks after the initial treatment to ensure the color is even and to your liking. With the proper aftercare, your lip blush tattoo will last for 1-3 years, giving you a low-maintenance, natural-looking lip color.
